  Getting your site visible in search engines is vital if you want to have visitors to you site.
  You basic options are:
   
  • Do all the work yourself.
    If you have the time and inclination, we can provide you with the information on what to do. Right-click on the link to download an eBook -  "24 Steps to Higher Traffic" . Select 'Save target/link as' and save it to your desktop. Double-click the icon to read it.
     
  • Or get someone else to do it.

• Get your own domain name
   
  If you are running a business, you should definitely have your own domain name -  preferably one that is evocative of the business you are  in. e.g: If you are a dog breeder, then www.cairnterriers.com might be a good one for you. You can check hereto see whether your chosen name is available. To register it:
   
  • Site Builder BUSINESS subscribers
    The domain registration and set-up service is included in your subscription. Please 'Login' and use the 'Domain Registration' option that will appear after logging in.
    Note that it can take up to 7 days for the process to be complete. You must also have 'published' your pages for them to be accessed using your domain name.
    
    Note that only .com, .net, .com or .co.uk registrations are included in the subscription, although others can be registered by third parties and 'pointed' to your site, as below.
     
  • Site Builder PERSONAL
    Domain registration is not included in the package, but if you want to register and use a domain name, we suggest you look at this hosting service (choose the 'no-hosting' plan!).
    
    You will need to fill in the address of your site's home page as a 'pointer' which will be of the form: http://www.webmainstreet.info/myusername/index.htm
